Read only...why?

Greetings all,

I've been working with this db for a few years now, and just in the last few weeks it will go into a "Read-Only" status. No one else is in the db, yet still I can't do what I need to in there. Would anyone know why it would randomly become read-only and how I can change that?

Great thanks in advance.

Peace,
Roach

I have the same problem at this time. Does anyone know why I can't get full control of my own database?

Rob

Roach - try importing all objects into a new db as it sounds like the one your working on may have become corrupted.

RobJ - Have you instituted some sort of security on your db?

Roach,

Is it on a network? And have the user access permissions
been changed lately?

Did you copy it from a CD? Are the File properties of the
database file "Read Only"?

Wayne

Thanks for the replies. It has nothing to do with security. It has also nothing to do with the file properties.

Yesterday I installed MS Access again and I could open each database again. Now I have the same problem again.

I can't get into one of my databases. Should Install access again?

Tnx in advance.

Rob
