Wondering if anyone has any ideas about this problem:

I have a form that contains production data. There are no subforms or anything too complicated in the coding, but there are lots of controls. Everything works fine on my machine, but after emailing to the customer, his version won't save the record on exiting the form. I tried resending it with the same results. This was written in 2000 but they are running on XP. I am trying it on XP and it still works great here.

I had them add a docmd to force a save before exiting and that worked fine. I am using a custom close button with docmd.close

The only thing that I can think of is that the database got corrupted while I was working on it and I had to move things over into a new db - but that still would'nt explain why it works here but not there.

That brings up another point. It seems like I have a lot of db's get corrupted while working with Access 2000. Is it that flaky or is my set up causing problems. I am running Windows XP Pro.

his version won't save the record on exiting the form.
Do you mean that it exits the form without saving the record, or that it refuses to save the record? Or is there just no message at all?

I use Access 97 and XP most often, so I can't speak for the stability of Access 2000 too much. I've had no major problems.

It doesn't give any message at all. It just closes, but doesn't save the record.

Sorry, I really have no good ideas, just stabs in the darK:
- are they opening the file using the default Access security? (I.e., they are logged in as Admin?)
- is the original db in Access 2000 format, and are they opening the file in Access 2000 format?
