Recordset not updatable

Hey all,

Just have a quick question which I should know but I don't. I have a query based on two tables. There are 5 fields in the query and the 5th fields is going to be used for data entry, the other 4 are just for display. When I try to put data in that text field I get the message "This recordset is not updatable". I got the error before and fix it but I cannot remember how.

Please Help.

Turn your query into a make table query. This will allow you to input as much data as you want into it and query against the results. If this is going to be a table that is updated often from the other 2 tables (which you currently have) your best bet is to create an append query that will update your new table every time you have to.
