I have a form which people enter details of an evaluation drive they have taken. They fill all the details of the drive in, date etc and then click a button to add any problems with the car. The button click opens a pop up form which closes when they click "add".

The first form has a subform on it and i want the issues to magically appear in the subform so that users know their issue has been added. The items do appear in the subform but only when you close its host form and reopen it. As the users will have a number of issues to add i dont really want to have to close and reopen it.

Is there a command to refresh the subform when the "add" button on the second form is clicked?

Have searched but not coming up with anything....:confused:

After an appropriate event e.g.

Private Sub Quantity_AfterUpdate()
Forms![YourFormName].Refresh
End Sub

Refresh will not add new information that wasn't in the recordset when it was initially pulled. You need to use REQUERY to get any additions. Refresh only updates information that has changed within the records in the current recordset.

See i learned something from you boB. Hows the new job?

Glad to hear.

Hows the new job?
Keeping me VERY busy. It's been going pretty well. I'm not sure how long I can keep up this pace though. I don't know if being a full-time developer is going to be my "cup-of-tea." I may choose to go a different route as I think I like having a job with a fairly set schedule, set days off, no night work, etc. :D

But, I wouldn't know until I tried it, so it has been good.
