Refreshing Drop Down Contents

I currently have three separate drop down lists and each's contents are reliant on the selection above.

So essentially,

Drop down 1's selection populates Drop down 2's selections and Drop down 2's selection populates drop down 3's options.

The problem I am having is that if data is previously populated, if I were to go to the first drop down and change it, both drop down 2 and 3 retain their old values instead of loading in the new ones.

I have done some looking around online, and all the solutions I had seen don't work. They have said to use things like the .clear property (it doesn't even exist for me), setting the selected option to "" (says a drop down can't be set to ""), setting the index to -1, and a couple others.

Any other ideas?
