Regarding the splash screen

Hi all,

i have designed my splash screen, It appears when the database is opened. I have used the on open event of the Switchboard to activate this, BUT, How do I get it to close after let's say 7 seconds?

I know I am supposed to use the Ontimer event, but how?

You should try to continue the existing thread rather than starting new ones. Some people get real grumpy.

To close the form using the on timer event simply add the code:

docmd.close

to the event, and set the "event timer" to say 2500 (milliseconds)

This should give you a long enough delay for the splash screen to be read.
