Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm currently doing an A2 ICT project and I'm having trouble creating a many-many relationship.

I've used normalisation and I have a link table to create the relationship. This then provides me with a one to many, one to many relationship.

My only problem is when I try to enforce referencial integrity I get this error message:

Realtionship must be on the same number of fields with the same data type.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you are trying to create a relationship between two different data types (i.e. text and number). Check your data types and try creating the relationship again.

Thanks you have been a great help. That has worked. Thanks alot.

BTW: Is there anyway to edit a YES/NO field to have my own options?

If there is can you tell me how it is done?

Thanks again

Steve

not that I'm aware of but you can create a work around for this lots of different ways... one way would be to keep the yes/no field in your table and then on your form create a combo box. Set its key field to -1 and 0 and then for the "visual display" - "Yes" and "No" (in a check box -1 = yes and 0 = no). Then when the user selects "Yes" or "No" from the combo box the actual yes/no field will update to either -1 or 0 depending on the input...

Kev
