I have a great little reminder program (see attached image) that shows a simple list of tasks. Upcoming tasks are shown blue, today's are black and past due are red. I can set a preview time so that the task begins showing say 7 days from due for example. The reminder program will do one time or recurring and when I tell it the task is complete, it will reset the date and copy the entry into a history table. Problem is the author is no longer developing this program and it has some bugs. I like it because it's simple, straight forward and effective.

My question: Is there a way to do this in Access? If so, has anyone developed something like this? If not, does anyone have the time to help me develop it? I think I could build the tables and forms, but making them color coded and resetting the dates I have no clue how to do.

Any help is deeply appreciated.

Jim

I think no problem for Access

I think thats no such problem. Try familiarize yourself with DateDiff and DateAdd formulas (this is for calculating dates, with this you can calculate witch reminder must go to history). Color coding in continous form is possible with textboxes for each color with formula:
Code:
IIF(somedate>Now();[somedate];"")
(black text is on bottom, red text is on top of black with transparent background and so on..), if value in that textbox meets criteria, value is showing up
Each form has a Timer function to meets your needs

Hope this help,
