I 've written a database application that sits on a remote system and I would like to manipulate it from home.

I have the IP address and password but wonder if anyone has any suggestions as to which application I would use to access the file?

No ... But I can install it anytime!

I use pcAnywhere, and have good luck.
The new version has internet capablity so you don't have to pay long distance charges.
Of course you do have to install it on both machines.

Good luck

Andy-

There are many, many packages that can do remote control of machines some are free (http://www.realvnc.com/), some are pay(GoToMyPC, pcAnywhere). WindowsXP includes the software to do this as well as the clients to setup on different versions of Windows. Do a search in google on "remote control software".

I will caution you to use STRONG passwords and change them often. pcAnywhere and other clients use well know ports and there are many utilities for hacking these servers!

Good luck!!
