I am importing data from an excel spread sheet and i am wanting to split the information from one of the cells to make it two seperate fields.

Example:

The first field will display : John Smith No1233

What i want to do is to remove the No1233 part and put this in a new field within the table.

Is this possible?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Since the data is coming from Excel...it might be easier to split the data in excel. Use the Text to Column function in excel.

From the menu bar in Excel, click Data / Text to Columns...

Also, if all cells in the 'name' column will have the "No1234", it might be easier to split the data by doing a Replace command to replace all No with ,No. Then you can use the "comma" delimiter to seperate the No1234's from the names.

You can easly write (record) a macro in Excel to do this for you.
