Replication issues with tables

I am trying to create a documentation DB with extensive lists of documents, text, numbering schema, titles, owners list, and much more info. I created a Master DB on my laptop and did a replica on the sharedrive. Now I am having many problems with the replication of my tables, queries etc. All my reports have the replication icon next to them and I cannot modify them. How do I fix this problem? I am a novice at creating DBs. I did take a level 1 course but we did not discuss these kinds of issues. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.....

So the problem is now when you create a replica all the replicated tables/queries don't show up?

When you create a replica, the MDB you launch it from becomes your DESIGN MASTER. This is the only one you can make DESIGN changes in (forms/tables, etc.). All replicas can update DATA in tables, but only in the DM can be used to edit forms/reports or to change table structures.

Your app should really be split into two MDBs, a front end, with your forms/reports/etc. (everything but tables) and a back end, with your data tables. You should only replicate the back end, so that you can synch the data between your laptop and the other computer. Don't replicate the front end, as you don't need to -- just make changes on either copy and then copy it over top of the other one. In any event, replication simply does not work for front ends -- it is a Jet technology and only works well for pure Jet objects (tables and queries). If you use it on a front end, you will eventually run into weird problems that come from corruption of the Access project data. It can even lead to a complete loss of the Access project.
