Report Event procedures not firing when directly print

I hope someone has some ideas on this one. I am using Access XP. I have a report that I am sending directly to the printer from a button on a form. I have some code in place that updates the data for the report in the On Open event of the report (I tested every event procedure for a report and for the detail section of the report). When I print preview the report it runs through the code with no problem (checked with breakpoints), but when I print it directly it does not hit any of the event procedures!!! I compacted the database, but it did not seem to help. Any ideas would be great!

I've seen this before but can't remember the elegant solution. You could try checking the order of the events, or even use the events to send the report to the printer from a preview instead of direct to the printer.

Use one of the OnFormat events

I tried that with no success. I was able to move the report prepation code to the onclick event of the button and take it off the report and that worked. Thank you for your response!
