Is there anyway to take the formatting from an existing report, size, layout, etc. and use it to create other reports?? Please help! I need to create about twenty different reports that all look the same!

Easy! In the main Database Window, you can simply cut and paste objects (Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports, etc.) repeatedly. (You can also do this across databases, although the Import function makes it easier, especially for bulk copying.)

Okay so here's the next dumb question:
Once I have copied and pasted, how do I link it to the new query, instead of the old one?

In the upper left of the report (and forms, for that matter), there is a box with a little black square in it - double click and that will call up the Report Properties. Look for the Record Source attribute (should be right at the top on the Data and/or All tabs), and there will/should be a dropdown list for you to scroll through Queries and Tables.

Try searching for "Report Properties" in Access Help for more info.

monkeytunes - You are the greatest and just saved me hours of work!!!
Thank you for your help!

You've helped me too, MonkeyTunes. Many thanks.

Or you could do a 'Template' report.

Before I posted here, I tried doing the template and couldn't get it to work. Ken, maybe you could share instructions on how to use it.

Just do a report that has a company logo, etc. in the header, with date stamps, page x of x pages, etc. in the footer. Save it as 'New Report Template X'.

Then whenever you do a new report, copy/paste the template to a new report and give it a new name.

???
Am I missing something here? Is there a another/better way?
ken

If the reports are exactly the same meaning information is pulled from different tables and queries but will appear in the exact same report (ie they have have a field called name and address but come from say a supplier table, shipping table, customer table), yes.

But I am still trying to work out how to do it. it uses RecordSource and some vba.
