I have several reports in a database. I have been adding text fields to show the project name and number; however everytime I use the database for a new project i have to edit all of the reports. So I made a table with standard project details (Project number and name and location etc).

In the report I created a new field and entered the source as
=[tblProjectDetails]![ProjectNumber]

When I run the report it asks me for =[tblProjectDetails]![ProjectNumber]; so the report does not recognise the field. How do I get the report to see these details.

thanks

First off go to the table or query on which the reports are based and make sure that the field you want on your reports is showing up and showing up correctly when you view the table or query directly.

If it isn't then the chances are that you might not have either placed it in the query (if the report is based on a query) or alternatively you haven't established the relationship between what you describe as a new table and the main table.????

Once you have the above sorted out then you can go to design view of the report then select view field list from the view menu and place the necessary field on the report.

Thanks both, I went with the Dlookup. I did not want to put those fields in to all of the queries as well.
