Report not displaying the data correctly very confused

I have a query that runs based on a date range that is entered by the user.
I have the date field set to sort asending and when I run the query by itself it works correctly. When I put the query in the control source for the a report and the reports opens all the data is there but it is not being sorted by the date looks to be sorted by order entered into the dbase? Please help

Reports, most of the time, do not use the sort that is in the query. You have to set it specifically in the Sorting and Grouping of the report.
