Report Opens but Functionality Turned Off

HELP! LOL! I have always wanted to start a problem with that.

In Access 2010, I have a report that comes up appropriately but does not allow a right-click menu or close from the X. I do have the acToolBar set to no - do I need to set it to yes when opening reports and back to no on close? That is the only thing I can think that is hindering functionality.

Check to insure that the report's "Close Button" property is set to yes.

Also, have you unchecked the Allow Default Shortcut Menus in the Startup Options? If so, you will need to build your own context menu which can be set for that report (or recheck the box but that would affect all objects).

It was a ribbon issue - I took the acPreview off and switch to acNormal so now the report goes directly to the printer.

Bob - I am screaming over here in hot west Texas.... My last thing to lock this puppy down is turning off the nav pane. I have unchecked the Nav Pane display in Current Database and programatically thrown

DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdWindowHide

in the form load of the login form. That sucker won't stay off for NOTHING. It's off on login only.... do I need to repeat on every form?

We are going to migrate all of our in house DBs in Access to 2010 slowly and there is so much more to deal with.

If you use any SelectObject code, that can cause the Nav Pane to become visible. Otherwise, I'm not sure what's going on and would probably have to play around with it to find out.

OMG! Well - ya - I SelectObject all over the place. Throwing forms here and there - Switchboard especially.

OK - So can I remove all of the objects from the Nav Pane for end users but keep them for me?

OMG - I got it - it's all about placement. I threw the code

strTableName = DLookup("Name", "mSysObjects", "[Type] = 1 AND [Flags] = 0")
    DoCmd.SelectObject acTable, strTableName, True
    DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdWindowHide

at the end of my switchboard load and that keeps it off.
