Report record numbering

Hi All,

I have a report with a sub report. I want to number the records in the subreport from 1 to n so that the subreport will show a numbered list and the main form to show the total items in the subreport.
The numbering is to aid the layout of the report only and has no bearing on the report record content.

Any ideas?

Use an unbound text box. Set the control source to '=1'.
Notice in the text box property sheet a setting for 'Running Sum'. Set that to 'Over Group' or 'Over All'.

Also if you want a total of those in your report, you can put this on the footer or where and create a new text box and set the control source as =Text# (# being the text box you used to do the number scheme) and it should pop out a total.
