Hi all,

I have a report that generates 3 different charts of the same data on 3 different pages. It may seem a bit much but some of the users prefer one type over the other and I'm trying to please them all :)

I'm not happy with it though, hate the fact that all 3 pages are always printed when only 1 is needed.

My question is: Is it possible to print a selected page of the 3 page report only? I'm thinking of a messagebox that asks with buttons where one can select which page(s) to print upon opening the preview.

Any ideas?

Thanks a million,

Wally

Ctrl+P will open the Print dialogue box, or use the PrintOut method

Hi Rich,

Yes, Ctrl+P is one option but not the one I'm after.

What I'd like to get is this:
I now open the report preview in a 4 page format (the report is 3 pages) which leaves me with a nice open space to have a show a message box in the reserved area of the 4th page. That msgbx should have an option group with e.g. 6 radio buttons for printing page 1, or page 2, or page 3, or 1 and 3, or 2 and 3, or all 3 plus a print button.

If that's somehow possible that'd be great.

Any ideas?

Reports are not user interactive, you'll have to create a form and the code to do what you want

Ok, That's too bad.

I think I might leave it in that case. I've spend the best of 2 days to try and get that to work from a form but i get printouts of several hindred pages, one for each record. After I've created a report it got much better, just the one report that I want prints, albeit on 3 pages.
Ah well, I think the users have just got to learn to live with the options that Ctrl+P gives them I suppose. It's not worth that much of my energy (and the headaches) to accomodate everybody.

Thanks for the advice Rich

You could create three different reports and leave the user to choose the one he wants by having three buttons on your form or switchboard.

Hi newman,

Yes, thanks for this suggestion. This is so much better than printing all 3 views every time. It's a simple solution but great solution to my question.
