Report to Excel using automationi

I want to export an Access 2007 formatted report to Excel, keeping the formatting. As I read a little, that is not easily possible. Also after reading, I will be using automation. No problem. Seems easy since I haven't yet started to write any code. My report is grouped and the grouping is offset and bolded to make sure each group is easily identifiable. The normal process of formatting a report seems pretty straightforward, where I am bolding rows, resizing columns, etc. Is am not sure how to start to do the grouping and offsetting as mentioned above.

Any help or references would be appreciated.

I have uploaded a screenshot of what I am talking about. Pretty simple/basis report.
