Reports - filtering

hello world, newbie to the forum here....

i am writing my first access report . I have the data i want, BUT (and there is ALWAYS a but isnt there! ) I am getting all the data and I need to only have specific data and i dont know how to filter.

i have a table called questionnaire and a table called answers. the questionnaire has a part number on, the data i want is mostly coming off the answers table, but i need an input box or similar to select the questionnaire answers only not all the questionnaire answers from the whole table.

if someone could describe how do to this i would be most greatful

There are a number of ways to do this. I would create a form where the user enters/selects the desired criteria, then use a technique like this to restrict the report to the chosen records:

So, they would enter the criteria then click a button, behind which is that code.
