Hello,

I hope someone might be able to help with this report question.

I am having some trouble printing out custom reports from certain machines.

I have a command button that opens a report in preview mode. The user can then print reports etc… However I am finding that a number of users cannot view the reports at all.

When the user clicks the open/preview command button no report appears. A brief cursor change takes place - but then nothing.

As a double check I tried creating a new database, with a new table. Then I used the report wizard to try and create a standard report. The report wizard does not open - nothing happens.

This may suggest a problem with Access/Office install - but this has been tried to no avail. I have also tried changing the default printer to the MS image printer. This has not helped either.

Any suggestions would be apprecated!

Thanks!

Have you tried creating another report and opening that one in preview mode?

What version of Access?

Hello,

thanks for the reply.

If I try to create a new report (new button) without using the wizard - also nothing happens.

Cheers!

Is the database split?

Look at the ON CLICK event of the button to ensure that the text "[Event Procedure]" is the value, that's if you're using vba. Are you using code or a macro?

Hello.

Yes - the database is split.

Its all done through VBA, and its all written properly.

Thanks!

Are you running multi OS'? Is there any pattern?

Or there could be corruption.

Its all being run on XP machines.

No corruption in the date either... yeah its really strange. No patterns either.

Just again - this happens if any user creates a brand new database, adds a few records and tries to create a report.

Is there anyway I could have (by accident!) turned off the reporting of wizard features through VBA? Well maybe that would have affected all the computers and not just a few...

cheers!

Tis quite strange.

They are all MDBs or you have a mixture of MDEs and MDBs?

I am not aware of a way of "turning of" the wizard so the chances of that happening is zero.
