Hi,

One you have opened a table, you can change the layout of the table : column width, roow height, color, ... and sorting or filtering the table.

I wonder there is a short way to reset all the changes to the original layout of the table.

How to do it ?

Thanks :)

Open the table in design view and rearrange the columns. As to sizing, etc. Those changes don't stick. You really should not care how a table looks since you should not be working directly in the table. Create forms to do your work for you. You can create forms that look like data sheets and your visual settings will be respected when you save the form.

That's right.
Sometimes however you need to read data on the tables directly (e.g. data analysis) and then unstick the display options could be useful.
Thanks anyway Pat.

You can do an awful lot of data analysis with a report in datasheet view.

If you have a form open then go to the tool bar and View and you will see Data Sheet as an option. Click it and the form will suddenly look like a table.

But normally you would make a form with tabular display.

You can't do much with tables. Think of tables as the foundations of a house. Just like the foundations of the house the tables will determine or limit what you can make in the DB but once the house is built the foundations are not visible unless you decide to add another room to the house.

Whatever data analysis you want to do, whether it be visual or printed, Forms and Reports will allow a 1000 times more than using the table. As a side note and directly related to your question, a simple maco or code can be made that will change the size of the field displays on a form but when you close and reopen the form it will be back to how it started.
