hello

have a quick short question
i have 3 txt boxes (title, name, surname) placed horizontally in a report, i know we can do this vertically but is there anyway i can get them to resize according to the length of letters? or is not possible?

thanks

If your concern is the space between them being different from record to record, could you just concatenate them into one textbox?

???

In the Properties setting of each of the textboxes click on Can Grow and set the value to "Yes".

i have set the property to can grow yes but it pushes the letters down e.g.
i get:-

miss a atkien
s
h
l
e
y

any other ideas?

Is your concern that your results look like:

Code:
Mr. John Smith

and you need:

Code:
Mr. John Smith

???

Then just do a text box that joins them:

myTitleFld & " " & myNameFld & " " & mySurnameFld

???

i know this mite sound silly but can u go into a little detail about how to do that

Sorry. Actually you can do this in the underlying query on in the report. It's quite simple. In the report just put an unbound textbox on the report and if your fld names are title, name, surname, then you put something like the following in the text box's control source property:

= [title] & " " & [name] & " " & [surname]

???

Steps:
1) On your Report create a new textbox
2) In the Control Scource of the textbox type in =[Whatever the initial field is called] & " " & [Whatever the First Name field is called]& " " &[Whatever the Surname field is called]
3) Make sure the field names are correctly spelled.
