Thought I best ask this question BEFORE I run into trouble.

If I were to set my database to hide the database window and all menus on startup so that users can only do what I want them to do and not edit anything. How do I go about reversing this if I needed to edit something as I would not be able to see any of the regular menus?

It would be good if the solution involved some sort of admin password rather than a sneaky short cut that a user may accidently stumble across.

Open Access, Click OPEN, and navigate to your file and then hold SHIFT + F11

this does not seem to do anything

Try holding down the shift button and double click (still holding down shft) the file till it opens in db window mode.

cheers Golfer that works!

Is there a more secure way of doing this, could I put a password on it so if user does not enter password they can only enter data rather than being able to muck up the form designs etc.

There are many many posts on this site that explain how to apply security to a db.
If you would rather not go down that route, do a search for threads containing 'disable shift key' this might be of some interest to you.
