Like some of the others are saying. The database itself does not really care if the information being fed into it is from a barcode or not. meaning: the field in the database will accept whatever is encoded in the barcode as long as the data matches the data type of the field so on and so forth.
You can get some pretty inexpensive USB scanners. The Symbol LS2208 works very well. This works great for a desktop or laptop computer.
So getting data into the database from a barcode is a piece of cake.
If you want to print barcodes from data already in Access, like on reports or something, that's another matter. there are a lot of 3rd party plugins that work well with Access.
Remember, if you have a barcode and a scanner attached to your PC, you can scan the barcode into any application where you can type. And the USB scanners that I have used are simply plug and play.
