There seems to be some inconsistency in controlling the ribbons in Access 2013.

I have managed to use the USysRibbons custom table and XLM to hide the ribbon in one app, but when I set the same config up in another db's the ribbon wont hide.

I've then made an empty db and tried in this and it still wont hide.

What are the "current db" setting that must be set to make the ribbon hide?

Thanks in advance

Grant

Hmm... seems I have got two methods to hide the ribbon in my first app. I have the custom table, but also have the following docmd:

DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarNo

Looks like the custom table and xml dosent work at all, but the docmd does the job!

Wonder if the custom table is only for AC2010?

Hmm....nope that's still not quite right.

The behavior of the DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Ribbon", acToolbarNo is different when evoked in the form when its automatically opened on startup and when its manually opened.

When opening on startup, the ribbon hides but not text menu above (File, Home etc), but if I manually open this form, both text menu and ribbon is hidden.

Is there a command to separately hide the text menu?

Hi

You have to build a ribbon for each version of Access (2007, 2010 and 2013).

Access 2007 does not have the File Tab (backstage) . View a graphic representation of the differences in mounting for XML.

The backstage differs between the 2010 and 2013 versions. See question 22 in the backstage model for the 2013 version.

If you run your application in different versions of Access, you must use a common tabale (tblRibbons), to store different XML, and then use the program to load the xml corresponding version.
