This is an oldy but a good one

'Suppose you're on a game show and you're given the choice of three doors. Behind one is a car, behind each of the others is a goat.

You pick a door, say door A, and the host, who knows what's behind the other doors, opens another door, either B or C , which has a goat. The host will always open one of the doors that you haven't chosen to reveal a goat, he never will reveal the car by the rules of the show.

So you have two doors, which the car could be behind.

He then says : "Do you want to switch door?"

Is it to your advantage to switch your choice or to stick with your original choice to end up picking the door which when opened will reveal the car.

Yes change to the 3rd door.
The chance is 2/3 that the car is behind that one. ;)

Well done Rak, you get the prize as the quickest to answer - only one weeks thinking time.

You are right to change to increase the probability of you getting it right.

However on this occasion the car was indeed behind your original choice of Door A. Bad luck!;)

A thread which hasn't descended into quasi political arguments, and practically noone bothers to post, they obviuosly prefer to argue else where.

Thats done it.

Good catch - I'm not the most popular guy around here to some and I'm not really the b'day celebrating kind of person any way - just another day...:)

You are getting OLD and grumpy:cool: :p

OK, here's another riddle :

1+2+8 = 150
This sum isn't right.
How can you make it right by drawing one single line ?

Edit :
Love riddles and try to put the train back on track before it derailes.

Sorry Paul, you're quick, but that answer is incorrect. ( Zero points)

1 + 2 + 8 does not equal 150

seems right to me??  ;)
