Because you haven't specified that the other half are not boys.

it is because all of them are boys, it did not say that the other half were not also boys ;) :D

yes, but if you put two halves together you get 7, the original number. the riddle merely stated that half were boys. so it would be possible that the other half of the children were also boys. Thus making the original premise of half her children being boys correct.
Unless of course if you look at it genetically where you have x and y chromosomes and have 4 girls and 3 boys and technically with one of the girls x chromosomes she could be said to be half boy :p
