Hi

I have developed a new database using Access 2003, which I need to roll out across various users. Some have XP, some Windows 7, and each of them has different size screens. I guess I will have to adjust the various forms to size to a particular users screen resolutions and sizes.

Is there any way of doing this within the database itself, or do I have have to adjust each form according to the local users PC specification?

Many thanks

I have a few clients in a similar situation and I just create the forms to fit the smallest resolution/screen size and the other users except that on their larger screens the database will appear slightly smaller. The other option is to make the forms fit a larger resolution but add scrollbars so the users with smaller screens/lower resolutions can still use them.

I have toyed with the idea of doing something in VBA but the time/cost involved never seems worth it.

Are you trying to get to a situation where all the users - no matter what screen resolution - see the same size forms?

I wouldn't worry about screen sizes. Just allow scroll bars, at least horizontal bars. If you put too much detail into your application, you begin to loose the rapid development benefit of using Access, and your code will be harder to manage. This is a trap I've got stuck in far too many times. I'm just now figuring it out!

I don't use the Tab forms in Options.
I change to Overlapping Windows and allow Window resizing by the user.
I think it looks better and gives the user a chance to move and make the forms what they want.
