Dear Access Expert,

This has probably been asked before but I want to get the latest answer.

I want to run MS Access 2003 and MS Access 2007 on one machine. I will be developing applications / databases in both versions.

Are there any installation issues and once installed other issues with this set up?

Thank you very much.

it's interesting you just asked this question...i had the same problem with deploying solutions to people that use ms 2000 all the way up to 2007. i wrote my own installation packager with DOS. here: http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=177312

as far as the problems, YES there are. many. the biggest ones being unknown until you run into them. take a look at that thread for others that will crop up.

the most common one is the fact that MS access has to reconfigure itself everytime you switch versions. open 03, then the next time, open 07, it'll spend 5 minutes reconfiging itself before it even opens your file. you may start to find this a little frustrating after a while. i did...so i just bought another machine and put my office07 on that one...

Apparently, this can be managed by a bit of software called SageKey StartAccess that protects the registry.

I will buy a seperate machine.

Thank you for your comments.
