Hi,
I am getting a runtime error '2110' - access can't move the focus to the control SearchResults.
This ONLY happens when the first character I type in the SearchFor field is the letter "I". All other characters do NOT give the error.

Any idea why it only backfires on character "I"?
The Form has Search field [SearchFor] and a List box [Searchresults].
A requery occurs after every new character in [SearchFor].

No idea, and it is really hard to just take a wild guess without seeing your DB, so could you Upload a Stripped DB.

To create a Sample DB (to be uploaded for other users to examine); please follow the steps..

1. Create a backup of the file, before you proceed..
2. Delete all Forms/Queries/Reports that are not in Question (except the ones that are inter-related)
3. Delete auxiliary tables (that are hanging loose with no relationships).
4. If your table has 100,000 records, delete 99,990 records.
5. Replace the sensitive information like Telephone numbers/email with simple UPDATE queries.
6. Perform a 'Compact & Repair' it would have brought the Size down to measly KBs..
7. (If your Post count is less than 10 ZIP the file and) Upload it..

Finally, please include instructions of which Form/Query/Code we need to look at. The preferred Access version would be A2003-A2007 (.mdb files)

Hi,
Here is my stripped db. Looking forward to your advice.

In FrmStartscherm:
1:Select button "Search Contact + tasks"
2:In the field "SearchFor" in, FrmContactSearch, type any search term.

Whenever you start with the letter "I" it will backfire.

Change the AutoCorrect option of the SearchFor text to "No", the internal AutoCorrect is also triggered at the same time Change is triggered. Setting it to No seems to have sorted the issue.

Paul,

Great. Thanks a million. It does the job on my side as well.

Hi pr2-eugin,

This thread looks to provide the answer I need, as the issue that cookiegary01 describes exactly mirrors mine (the error triggers on 'i' - and, incidentally, also on 'nwo'). I too have a SearchFor text box. BUT, could you please explain how to find the AutoCorrect option that needs to be changed to 'No'. Thank you so much! :banghead:

Sorted - the text box properties setting concerned is labelled 'AllowAutoCorrect', and I had been looking for 'AutoCorrect' - hope this may provide clarity for other newbies!!! :)

Just wanted to post a quick message to say Thanks. I was having the exact same issue, I changed the setting as per above and it solved the problem.
