Save value on excel via access form

Hi,

I have an excel file with few records the last record is titled status. I've an access form which gets these records. My question is how can I make changes to a field on form so that is gets automatically updated on that excel sheet.

Ex. When I select "resolved" on the status field on access form. This should get updated on the excel sheet. Any help is greatly appreciated.

since you cannot edit your linked spreadsheet in access, the idea is to import your spreadsheet to a temporary table, either in the current db or to external db, then make this table your rowsource of your form. you make any changes on the record on this table and on closing of form update your spreadsheet.
 
What about ODBC connection will that help?
