Scan web Folder for Viruses

I am building a site in which users will be uploading "photo's" to my a web host. Is there anyway I can scan these files for virus's before I download them?

The website is going to be an ecommerce site in which I will have users uploading images that the client will work on. The client has concernes about downloading his customers images withought scanning them for viruses 1st. Is there anyway to maybe scan them via FTP or something? I would think the only way a virus scan can work is if it has full access to the file i.e loading it to his HD. Anyways - Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Yes i can scan the web pages but i don't know the way to how scan these pages..
