hi all
hope someone here can help me

I have text box called text156 on a access form the control source is =[Combo72].[column](5)..which is populated from a combo box. when this field is populated i want the text to scroll like a marquee effect. there is a button for this but only seems to be for a access data page. can this effect be easily achieved on a normal form with vb or another way? i have tried various ways but to no avail.
if someone could help i would be very greatful
thanks in advance
richard

hi ghudson
thank you for the welcome
yes i tried searching for a couple of days, and tried various bits of code but nothing seemed to work. thank you for the link...i will give it a go

Your welcome! Check out the link to the sample I posted. It works and I actually used it in one user database years ago to make the daily message "pop".

hello again
i had a look at the link you kindly found for me yesterday. i had seen it on my searches before. whilst this scrolls the text it only scrolls the text programmed in. what i want it to do is scroll a piece of text on a text box in one of my forms, the text box that i want to be scrolled is populated by a combobox. so in short, i have a form with a combo box, the user picks from the combobox this then populates the text box and this is the text box which i want to scroll. my text box is called text156 and the controls source is
=Combo72.column(5)

i have tried to read up on vb etc and played about a bit with the code but i am only a novice and getting nowhere fast
do you have any thoughts
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Richard
