I tried to add user names and passwords to my access database and now all of my databases that use access are password protected! How did this happen and how do I remove all user permissions from everything and start over?

The main question is... "How did you all the names and passwords to the Access database for all your users?" in a table? through user groups? security?

Bad Move

Unless you know a fair bit the wizard is a sure fire way to screw matters.

You have probably used the System.mdw file that has stuffed all databases

Send me a PM with an email address and I will send some documents that explain security and how to set it up correctly. This evening cos I do not have them here at work
To recover current situation I think you should
1) Remove all the names etc you have added.
2) Isolate your database from anybody else
3) Replace the System.mdw file with a copy from a machine that has its own fresh copy. Be sure to get a correct version copy. Access 2000 or Access 2003 or whatever.

I think this will get you out of a hole but no guarantees.

Anybody else welcome to comment
