I recently purchase a laptop from a company which was replacing its laptops with newer ones. It came with XP SP3 and Office Pro 2010 installed. All othe data was removed.
When I start Access I get a message "Microsoft Access couldn't find the file 'c:\access\contacts\cscontacts.mdw1.' This file is required for startup"
I assume that this file is associated with a database that once existed but has been deleted.
How can I get around this? I just want to start with a 'clean' copy of Access.

Sounds like someone setup the security incorrectly and overwrote their system.mdw file, this would require a re-install of Access to fix the issue.
