Is there a way to send an Access shortcut through Outlook that it won't be blocked? I tried renaming the extension, but that didn't work. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Kacy

Zip it and send the zip file. But that also depends if the users version of Outlook will accept zip files.

When I try to zip a "shortcut" it goes ahead and zips the actual database. So when I send it and have them unzip it, it actually loads the database to their harddrive and not a shortcut to the network.

Been there, done that.

You have to select the folder that the shortcut is located in and zip up that folder. You will then need to delete any extra shortcuts from the zip file if there were any other shortcuts within that folder when you zipped it. You should select to "save full path info" for the folder that the shortcut was located in.
