Hello

We run a school and have a mobile phone with unlimited text.

We communicate with Parents via text messaging but this is done by using the Nokia PC Suite (and the numbers are stored in the phone)

We now have an Access database with all Phone numbers etc.

Is it possible to use the database to send text/sms using our phone?

Our current method works but the phone number are kept in 2 places, the database AND the phone. Should the phone number in the database change, we need to remember to change the number on the phone.

So please advise

Thanks

We subscribe to an online SMS service (in our case aql.com). You can send texts from the SMS service in serveral ways including sending an email to the service or simply logging onto the service.

Once the SMS service is set up you can easily set up Access to send emails to the service to be distributed. You can also have the SMS respond via email (so you can use Access to "read" the responses.

Not sure if that's any help to you.

Chris

Thanks

I already have a phone with unlimited text so don't need any sms gateways etc.

Just trying to find a way to link the phone numbers from within our Access DB to the phone (connected via Bluetooth) and send.
