Serious bloating

OK so i managed to figure it out

During my design process, i copied over a preset Flexgrid across different forms to keep the generic look. I renamed these separately however, it seemed to cause a problem and they managed to bulge. i removed all of the flex grids and then added them back in separately from scratch and set them up individually. My db went from 380mb down to 3.1mb....

i had 4 grids

lesson learned? dont be so lazy and copy something over, always start from scratch

Hmm, that's very interesting observation. That would actually suck if that's something true of any ActiveX control and not just FlexGrid. I guess it makes sense since ActiveX control have to be persisted but to think that copying then changing properties would create that amount of bloat is quite a surprise.

Oh, well. Better we know about it now.

I thought it must have been something like that when I noticed an unopened untouched db had bloated to the same size as the recently closed one. They were both always the same size even though I didn't touch one the them. I made a new db and imported everything 1 by 1 until I saw the huge change in size. It was a simple case of removal of objects and the most obvious was flex. Made a new one and all is well
