Question Shortcut to access database gives an error

I have a MS access 2007 database application and start the program form a shortcut on the desktop. If I do this from Windows XP it work fine. However if I start the program form windows 8.1 I get an error message box “There was a problem while sending the command to the program”. If I start access and then use File – Open to the same database I don’t get the error. It getting very irritating has anyone else see this and is there a fix.

Check the filepath in the shortcut. Some shortcuts link to the version of Access as well as the database and the installation folder may be different on 8 to XP.
