Our company operates on a Novell network. Access 2002 is loaded on each desktop and Access databases are loaded on the network under a shared directory. We have shortcuts in a Novell-delivered Applications folder on the desktop which opens a sign-in form in each database. Two weeks ago, on a Monday, several employees (including myself) were unable to access the databases. They would click on the shortcut and Access would freeze.
There were only five employees out of 50 who had this problem. The shortcuts worked for everyone else. Also the employees having the problem could log in under their name on another computer and could access the databases. It seems to be a workstation issue, but so far we haven't been able to locate the problem. I can access the databases through Access - just not through the shortcut. Also if I try to set up a new shortcut to the form, it freezes.
I would appreciate any advise you may have. Thanks.
