Hi,

I have a test database. In the database, three tables in total. Lab, scs and record.

I also have a form from which query parameters can be passed. On the form there are only two combo boxes as you can see.

When I run the query and produce the report, Access is saying that the expression is too complicated to execute. I have double checked everything and everything is fine. I wonder if it's the lookup field problem....but I doubt it...

Please help and take a look at it. Any comment/guidance is much appreciated. It's really simple database, but it's not working......

Thanks alot

Okay,

1. You have used lookups defined at table level - I believe I've warned you about that before. DO NOT DO IT!!!!! Shall I say it again?? DO NOT DO IT!!!! It make things more complicated than it really needs to be and unless you know how to use them without causing the problems (read here for more about that).

2. So, once those are removed and the combo boxes are removed from the report and fixed up and the query fixed up, it works fine. Check out the query to see what I did. Also, check out the changed report controls and bound fields.
