Simple query re currency text box

When I enter the text box on a form set to add new data the currency £0.00 comes up as soon as I enter data but the numbers entered go to left of £sign eg 23£0.00 and need less to say data not appropriate for field.

Assume need setting - really need it to stay as new data to avoid previous entries showing.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

The behavior you describe can be avoided by using the tab key to move from field to field. If you tab into a currency filed all the digits in the field will be selected, and will be over written as soon as you start typing.

You can simulate this behavior by placing the following code in the on click of On Click event of your currency filed.

Me!Item.FiledName.SetFocus  [COLOR="SeaGreen"] 'Replace [B]FiledName[/B] with any other field on your form[/COLOR]
Me!CurrencyField.SetFocus     [COLOR="SeaGreen"]'Replace [B]CurrencyField[/B] with the name of your currency field.[/COLOR]
