hi. i have 2 queries.

query1 has individual sales

query2 has the total sales of each individual sale added up from the previous query.

what i'm trying to do:
on my report i don't know how to add query 1 and 2 on the page so that i can have all of the individual records with the total at the bottem because i only know how to select a single table.

is there a "show tables" button on the report page that i can use like in a query or relationships chart that will let me add in my query so i can drag and drop the field i need?

thanks.

You can't have a report based on more than one query (as far as I know).
You can have running totals or section totals on a report.

subreport solution

Ben, use "sorting and grouping" to make sure you have a header and footer for your individuals. Create a subreport for the summation query (the one that has the totals for each individual). Insert the subreport into the main report (there's a button that will prompt a wizard for adding a subreport) in the individual name footer and make a relationship for your individual names (so that the subreport will put the totals under each individual's detail).

It's not hard, just hard to find out how to do it the first time.

i tried using a subreport like you said but i have a problem with it that i can't seem to fix:

now my query1 has each individual and query2 has the totals of the individual like i said before, but when i put in the subreport, it writes the total under EACH individual record so if there are 30 entries on the report, the total shows up 30x except i only need it to show up once at the bottem.

it might be because query1 and query2 are made of several companies but i don't know how to select the specific information i want shown. when i want a specific company out of the total shown (for ex: query2 shows the sum of 5 different companies but i only need company 3's total to show up at the bottem) am i supposed to split all of the information furthur apart? i thought i normalized my data but was it incorrect to put all of the sums of different companies on a single query?
