Gremlins?

Finally got around to putting the Edge icon on the desktop. Sure enough, smooth as glass and fast response all around. Which really ticks me off because of how much I hate the edge browser otherwise. Bloody-bedamned-to-hell Edge wants to turn on CoPilot and a dozen other features that I absolutely don't want to use. I'm going to have to work on its settings. I may have to send a note to Firefox on this one.

It has already irked me by trying to complete my words now and then. I hate, HATE, HATE that level of intrusion.

i'm the same way. even spell check irks me in almost all programs. if i thought i was a bad speller, i'd run it once at the end and that's it!
i settled on chrome because i like its password manager and i can sign in from anywhere in the world and have all my accounts there.
from an advanced technician's perspective, not the best pw mgr in the world - but from a regular person's perspective, it lends to being highly organized in life.

so you like firefox? i haven't used that in years, but I gather it's still quite popular. used to use it in my early internet days and remember liking it

And now, Edge does the same thing! The yellow line and yellow bars cycle for a while before either finishing ... or GIVING UP. This is not a browser problem because both Edge and Firefox do the same thing.

This is now perhaps a Win11 thing. I doubt it CAN be a hardware thing, but if I can get on my wife's different hardware/different O/S setup, I might be able to test this further.

In fact, posting from Firefox is now faster than posting from Edge.

Color me confused.

I remember back in the day , firefox's claim to fame was its speed. Is that still a thing? Or is it based on Chromium anyway, as half of them are now?

I'm posting this from Firefox, curious to see if I experience anything you have, despite being on Win10
