hi
First off is there a default password for the default Admin account? I cant seem to find out were i can set the password anywhere. Also i have created another admin account and several basic user accounts, but i cant find out where i go to change the user account passwords while on my new admin account, as far as i know i can only set their passwords while going through the wizard. Please help

edit: also is there any way to get rid of the default user group, or do i have to go through all the forms and querys and disable its permissions? Also, when i created my password setup with the wizard it seemed to apply it to all the databases on my computer, and was dependent on another application which i could just delete to remove. Is there a way to make a password system that is just with the database, and doesnt need another application to go along with it to work?

No, and you shouldn't really put one on it. The default Admin account should be removed from the Admins (notice the s at the end) GROUP BUT NOT BEFORE you have created another Admin user with a password.

Which version of Access are you using as it does depend on it as to where you would get there.

Yes, you have to set the permissions if you don't want them available to normal users. You can't get rid of the default user group, as far as I know.

Also, when i created my password setup with the wizard it seemed to apply it to all the databases on my computer,
If you JOINED the workgroup instead of using a shortcut to open the databases with that, then you will have that problem. You should not join the workgroup. You should go back to your original SYSTEM.MDW workgroup and then just open your databases with shortcuts which have the proper MDW file in the path. If you secure the database properly (including removing the user named ADMIN from the ADMINS group) then other users can't get in to your database without logging in. I hope you did not change your default System.mdw file as that would be a problem.

I think you should go get the Security FAQ:
