Sorting a list of Files

I have a BackUp and Restrore from BackUp procedure in my my database.

I can backup to a spreadsheet and the spreadsheets are renamed to include the date of the backup.

When I restore from the backup an unbound combo is populated

Code:
Set SourceFolder = FSO.GetFolder("c:\GPandDetectionDogTrainingLogBackUp\")

This all works, the only issue being, is that I want the most recent backup to be at the top of the list, at the the moment its at the bottom.

is there a way of implementing a sort order, bearing in mind that its an unbound combobox.

What are you backing up?

The Front End, a Table, all Tables?

Why not do a Compact and Repair on the Database, rename it with todays Date and Time. These could be located in a separate Folder for back ups or perhaps a Cloud Service like Dropbox or OneDrive.

Im backing up all the tables into one spreadsheet, they get renamed like this:

GPandDetectionDogTrainingLogBackUp 2014_05_19.xls
GPandDetectionDogTrainingLogBackUp 2014_07_20.xls

and so on.

Unfortunaly this is how they appear in the combobox, what I need is for the most recent to appear at the top of the list (mainly nbecause that is the most likely file to restore from)

its probably because the files get read/sorted alphabetically.

I tried to do a similar thing, by managing a row source based on an array, but the combo box just wouldn't play ball. in the end, I appended the file names to a table, to populate the combo box, then all was well

Can you give me a heads up as to how you do that please?

I certainly do not like to see a Back Up in a Spread Sheet. It makes not sense to me.

Maybe you are doing something completely different for a reason know only to you.

If you kept your Data within the Original Database things would be so much tidier.

I can back up a Database at the Rate of One Second. So I could sit here and press the Go button 60 times in one minute and have 60 differently named databases in chronological order.

You must have your reasons for the spreadsheet so I will leave you with them.
