I currently have this data in the "tbl_Infor" Tbale

Tlb_name RowNo Comments

MPI 1 Username
MPI 2 Forename
MPI 5 Date
MPI 3 Sex
MPI 4 Address
LRD 1 Car
LRD 4 Year
LRD 2 Make
LRD 3 Colour
LRD 5 MODS
LRD 6 TAX DATE

I need a sort function in vba or an SQL statement that will sort the table in order of row number (See below)

Tlb_name RowNo Comments

MPI 1 Username
MPI 2 Forename
MPI 3 Sex
MPI 4 Address
MPI 5 Date
LRD 1 Car
LRD 2 Make
LRD 3 Colour
LRD 4 Year
LRD 5 MODS
LRD 6 TAX DATE

Any ideas on how this can be done thanks.

Make a query and put SORT on Tbl_name and RowNo fields.

Just let me ask a question here. What are we looking at? Is the dataset you have above the result of a query or is that really what is stored in one of your tables? Big question, do you have a field called "tbl_name". If so, MStef is correct, a query and a sort will do. If you have typed the table name in for our benefit, then you have a issue that's a bit more complex.

Please let us know. :)

Yes this is what is sorted already in the database.... Im new to SQL so could someone please put me in the right direction of what SORT SQL statement to wirte? thanks

Ok thanks for that.... Anyway of sorting an table without the select statement?
