Has anyone found that the name assigned to printers under XP is different than under Windows 98? For example: Using Access 97, I created an invoice report and defined a specific printer called "Invoices". This printer is a shared network printer and is identified by Windows 98 as "Invoices". Last week I upgraded my development machine to XP and apparently XP wants to call this same printer "\\Desk2\Invoices". Now when I browse to setup a specific printer under XP it is no longer called simply "Invoices". The name in the drop down box is "\\Desk2\Invoices". I see no way to change that name. Last week, after fixing a few things, I copied my "new" front-end to the various workstations on the network. (which are still running Windows 98) Now when the users try to print an invoice, a messages pops up saying that printer "\\Desk2\Invoices" is not available. The only work around I have found is to copy my front-end MDB to a Windows 98 machine, reselect the specific printer "invoices" and then publish from there. What a pain. Anyone got a better solution?
