Split database frontend changed take forever

Split database. However, front end changes take forever or won't change at all.

Go into a Windows Explorer and look at your "My Network Places" and delete any existing ones. It doesn't delete the places just removes them from that list. Also, if you have mapped drives which you don't need, disconnect from them.

There is nothing there. Still doesn not work. A simple change in frontend takes 5 minutes. I thought if I moved FE to share drive it might be faster. The FE would not even open in share drive.

If you can work on it on your local machine it will speed it up immensely. Then move it back when done.

I did move it to my computer and it still takes 5 minutes a change on the front end. Also, the directions for a split database state you can make changes on the FE while onther user has the FE open. It appears that is not true

The frontend should be a copy on each user's computer, not running it from a shared file in a shared location.

One possible problem could be if you have tables which have the SubDatasheet property set to AUTO. This is especially a problem if you have a lot of tables and/or relationships. To fix that you would need to go into each table in the backend and go to the PROPERTY SHEET (don't select a field first or it will not be on the right properties - you need the table properties) and find Subdatasheet Name and change it from [Auto] to [None].
